If you are looking for some baby dwarf trees, I highly recommend Conifer Kingdom! I received my first order from them the first week of April this year, and was so happy with what I received! Two little conifers and two Japanese Maples! There are many nurseries where you can order plants online, but I selected Conifer Kingdom because they had a large selection of dwarf trees, which I was seeking for a small city balcony container garden. I also appreciated that they are one of the few places that offer very small Japanese Maples in a 4 inch size, which both lowers the cost and allows you to have the satisfaction of watching them grow! I was so curious about how they would be packed for shipping, so I'll show a few photos of the shipping box and the unpacking process. The last photo shows the trees a couple of months later, after they had put on some new growth. It was fascinating, they came in a tall narrow box with all the pots at the bottom so the plants could support each other. There were long bamboo poles stuck in one of the pots to provide further support. Because the box is extremely bottom heavy, it would almost be impossible for the FedEx workers to stack it upsi

Net: concerns with nursery care for the more mature specimens, and long term viability. I invested in a beautiful Tsuma Gaki maple in 2020, requiring special freight shipping. It seemed glorious for the first few years until the trunk began to split and the tree started to slowly lose limbs. When we had a master arborist look at it in 2024, he said that the source of all the issues was the extensive girdling of the tree roots. The tree was past the point of saving. He indicated it was consistent with what they see with poor nursery care and lack of proper root trimming in the years that it was growing in bound form. I sent a note to Conifer Kingdom in 2024 to explain our experience and sadness - I didn't ask for anything. As I am making plans to remove the tree this fall, I just looked back and realized: they never bothered to reply to my email. I'm disappointed.

I absolutely LOVE Conifer Kingdom! I've ordered many times over the past 2 years and the plants are always so carefully and thoughtfully packed. I love their selection of conifers and maples at good prices. Out of 15+ plants/trees that I have ordered, I only had one tree that didn't do well and they promptly sent me a replacement. Will definitely order again!
